LEARNER SUPPORT

MCDE has region offices in Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu. These offices offer the following services

• Guidance and counseling
• School registration
• Learner registration
• Orientation of teachers supervisors and head teachers
• Distribution of learning materials (modules)
• Availability of teacher supervisors for face to face tutoring
• Monitoring of OSSs
• Link schools in the regions

At these offices you meet learner support services personnel who assists open and distance learners in the development of their self-directed learning skills by encouraging long term goal setting, development of time management skills, self-assessment of learning progress, and greater learning autonomy. These offices also offer technical as well as administrative support to teacher supervisors in open secondary schools.
